What tarot is not
Tarot is not a crystal ball. It is not a script of events that will unfold regardless of what you do. If someone is telling you that tarot reveals a fixed, unchangeable future. Walk away. That is not how this works, and anyone claiming otherwise is either misinformed or manipulating you.
The future is not a destination you are being driven toward without a say in it. You are a co-creator of your life. Your choices, your energy, your alignment. These things matter. They shift timelines. They open and close doors. A reading that treats your future as something already decided is doing you a disservice.

What tarot actually does
Tarot reads energy. It reads the current trajectory of a situation based on what is active right now, your energy, the energy of the people involved, the momentum of the patterns at play. Think of it less like a prophecy and more like a weather forecast: highly informed, directionally accurate, and subject to change based on what you do next.
When I pull cards for someone, I am not receiving a pre-recorded message from the universe. I am reading what is present in your field. What is rising, what is stuck, what is fading, what is building. I am translating energy into language you can actually use.
This is why readings feel so accurate because energy has patterns, and patterns have trajectories, and if nothing changes, those trajectories tend to unfold in predictable ways. The reading is accurate because it is reflecting what is real, not because the outcome is locked in.
So can it predict the future?

What to look for in a reader
A reader worth trusting will tell you what they see, including things that are uncomfortable. They will not hold guidance hostage or manufacture urgency to keep you spending. They will give you information you can act on and then let you walk away empowered, not dependent.
They will also be honest when the energy is unclear. Not every reading is a crystal-clear transmission. Sometimes the cards are asking you to sit with uncertainty rather than resolve it prematurely. A reader who is always certain of everything is performing certainty, not reading energy.
