There is a version of you that exists beyond the roles you play, the titles you hold, and the ways you have learned to shrink yourself to be more palatable to the world. That version of you has an architecture. A design. A specific energetic signature that has been operating beneath the surface of your life this entire time, shaping what you are drawn to, what wounds you carry, and what you are being called to step into.
That is what an archetype is. And understanding yours is one of the most useful things you can do for your spiritual development, your relationships, your work, and your sense of self.
In my practice, I work with four primary feminine archetypes. They are drawn from the tarot but they are not limited to it. They are patterns I have witnessed in thousands of women across readings, sessions, and mentorship. Here is what each one means and what it says about the path of the woman who carries it.
"Your archetype is not a personality type. It is an energetic blueprint, the underlying pattern that shapes how you move through the world, what you need, what you fear, and what you are here to embody."
She sees. She knows things before they happen. She reads people with terrifying accuracy and has access to information that cannot be explained logically, and has likely spent most of her life trying to rationalize it or hide it.
She does not trust what she knows. She second-guesses her intuition, waits for external validation, and has been told her sensitivity is a flaw.
To trust herself completely. To stop asking permission for what she already knows. To build a life that honors her gift rather than managing it.
She holds space like no one else. She is the woman others come to, the one who always knows what to say. She carries wisdom that feels ancient and understands ritual, ceremony, and the power of the in-between.
She gives endlessly and receives little. She has confused service with self-abandonment. She knows how to hold everyone else but struggles to let herself be held.
To receive. To be witnessed. To stop making herself the bridge and allow herself to be the destination. To lead from embodiment, not depletion.
She sees truth without flinching. She has no tolerance for performance or pretense. She is magnetic, powerful, and carries an energy that commands attention without trying. She does not break. She transforms.
She has been feared, misunderstood, or punished for her power. Her anger has been pathologized; her discernment mistaken for coldness.
To stop apologizing for what she is. To reclaim her power without shrinking it. To lead from truth rather than the version of herself others can handle.
She creates. She builds. She nurtures visions into reality. She has a natural relationship with abundance, beauty, and sensuality. What she touches flourishes. She makes everything feel more alive simply by being present.
She overextends. She gives from her own reserves until she is empty. She may have learned to associate her worth with what she produces or provides for others.
To receive as abundantly as she gives. To create for herself, not only for others. To allow her own flourishing to be the priority rather than the afterthought.
You are not just one
Most women carry a primary archetype and one or two secondary ones. You may recognize yourself clearly in one of these descriptions, or you may feel drawn to elements across several. That is normal, and it is part of what makes archetypal work so rich. The primary archetype tends to be the one whose wound feels most personal and whose gifts feel most native.
What gets interesting is when women are living primarily from their wound rather than their gift. The Oracle who never trusts herself. The Priestess who is completely depleted. The Dark Feminine who has suppressed her power to stay safe. The Empress who has no access to her own abundance because she has given all of it away. These are the women who come to me for readings, and the transformation that happens when they understand their archetype and begin working with it intentionally is genuinely stunning to witness.
How this shows up in your life
Your archetype shapes your patterns in love, money, and work, often in ways you have never been able to name before. The Oracle struggles to charge what she is worth because she does not fully trust the value of what she sees. The Empress is generous to a fault with money. The Priestess gives away her energy for free and then resents it. The Dark Feminine burns it all down when she feels trapped rather than asking for what she actually needs.
None of these patterns are flaws. They are adaptations. And once you understand the blueprint you are working with, they become choices rather than compulsions.
"Knowing your archetype does not tell you who to be. It tells you who you already are, so you can stop working against yourself and start working with what was always there."
How to find yours
The fastest way to identify your primary archetype is to look at your patterns rather than your preferences. Not which one sounds the most appealing. But which one's wound you have been living inside. Which one's gifts feel like yours but feel dangerous, underdeveloped, or suppressed. Which one's path sounds like something you have been trying to walk toward without quite having language for it.
The more honest you can be with yourself in that reflection, the clearer it becomes.
If you want to go deeper, to have your archetype identified through a full energetic and tarot reading, and to receive a complete blueprint of how it is expressing in your wealth, visibility, love life, and soul's path. That is exactly what The Velvet Mapping session is designed for.
You have been operating from a pattern that has a name. And naming it changes everything.
